The Nocturne No 2 in B minor (1901) emulates the grander Chopin nocturnes, especially in it its contrasting ‘prayerful’ section, whose arpeggiated chords recall those of Chopin’s C minor Nocturne Op 48 No 1. This section carries further markings such as quasi fiati (woodwind) and quasi organo, before it develops into ever more luxuriant decorations.

Le Nocturne no 2 en si mineur (1901) démarque les nocturnes chopiniens, plus grandioses, surtout dans sa section contrastive «orante», dont les accords arpégés rappellent ceux du Nocturne en ut mineur op. 48 no 1 de Chopin. Cette section est, par ailleurs, marquée quasi fiati (instruments à vent en bois) et quasi organo, avant de se développer en fioritures toujours plus luxuriantes.

Die Nocturne Nr. 2 in h-Moll (1901) orientiert sich an den größeren Nocturnes von Chopin vor allem in ihrem kontrastierenden „Gebetsteil“, dessen Arpeggienakkorde an diejenigen in Chopins Nocturne in c-Moll op. 48 Nr. 1 erinnern. Dieser Abschnitt hat weitere Vortragsbezeichnungen wie quasi fiati (Holzbläser) und quasi organo, bevor er zu luxuriöseren Verzierungen übergeht.
