Venite, exsultemus Domino is largely an exultant text, with an opening phrase which rises excitedly in both voice and accompaniment, but there is nonetheless exquisitely gentle writing at ‘O immensus amor’, with suspensions of great beauty, and an ending in a surprisingly low tessitura.
