Igor Tchetuev (piano)

Igor Tchetuev was born in Sebastopol, Ukraine, in 1980. At the age of fourteen won the Grand Prix of the International Vladimir Krainev Young Pianists Competition, and at eighteen he won the First Prize of the ninth Arthur Rubinstein competition, also being voted the ‘audience favourite’.

Igor Tchetuev has given recitals across Europe, at among other venues Wigmore Hall, Salle Gaveau, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Prague Rudolfinum, Mariinsky Theatre, Berlin Philharmonie, La Scala in Milan, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra Garnier in Paris, and the Théâtre des Champs Elysées; he has also appeared at international festivals at Menton, Colmar, Montpellier and Lille, the Chopin Festival in Paris, the Klavierfestival Ruhr, the Braunschweig Festival, Sintra Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival and the Lisztomania Festival.

Igor Tchetuev has performed as piano soloist with Orchestre National de France, Mariinsky Orchestra, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Hallé Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi, St Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Bern Philharmonic, NDR Hannover, Santa Cecilia Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Miami New World Symphony, and Orchestre National de Lille, under such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Neeme Järvi, Semyon Bychkov, Yevgeny Svetlanov, Vladimir Spivakov, Sir Mark Elder, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Maxim Vengerov and Maxim Shostakovich.
