Graeme Steele Johnson (clarinet)

Winner of the Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition, clarinettist Graeme Steele Johnson has appeared recently as a soloist and chamber musician at venues and festivals across the USA and Canada, and led the Caroga Lake and Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestras as soloist-conductor in concertos by Copland and Mozart. Now completing a postgraduate performance fellowship at the Yale School of Music, he completed his M M there under the guidance of David Shifrin and Ricardo Morales, and was awarded the school’s Alumni Association Prize. He has studied extensively with Yehuda Gilad, and completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin under the tutelage of Nathan Williams.
