The home of John Rutter and The Cambridge Singers.
John Rutter’s music is performed and recorded by choirs all over the world, but the recordings on Collegium Records by The Cambridge Singers and conducted by the composer himself have special claims to be considered authoritative.
The Cambridge Singers was founded by John in 1981 after his successful tenure as director of music at Clare College, Cambridge; Collegium Records followed three years later, to provide a home for the choir’s recordings. Although the label specializes in John’s own compositions and arrangements, it has released many other fine recordings of the English choral repertoire, not forgetting a Gramophone Award-winning album of the original version of Fauré’s Requiem.
