Liszt was particularly fond of one or two of his Album-Leaves and would write and write them again as little dedications for many of his friends and admirers over his long career. The circumstances of their composition is usually not known, and many of them are in anonymous private hands and cannot be seen, but they are known from their publication in facsimile in various auctioneers' catalogues. It is for this reason that we lack the last fifteen bars from the verso of the manuscript of the early Andantino in E flat, only the recto of which was published. The present whereabouts of the manuscript are unknown, and this musical material is known only from this leaf.

Liszt aimait particulièrement un ou deux de ces Feuilles d’album, et il les écrivit, encore et encore, au fil de sa longue carrière, sous forme de petites dédicaces destinées à maints amis et admirateurs. Nous ignorons généralement les circonstances de leur composition et nombre d’entre elles, aux mains d’anonymes privés, ne sont pas visibles, mais sont connues grâce à leur publication en facsimilé, dans divers catalogues de commissaires priseurs. Voilà pourquoi nous ne disposons pas des quinze dernières mesures du verso du manuscrit de la pièce ancienne intitulée Andantino en mi bémol, dont seul le recto a été publié. Nous ignorons où le manuscrit se trouve actuellement, et ce matériau musical n’est connu que grâce à cette feuille.

Liszt mochte ein oder zwei dieser Fragmente ganz besonders und schrieb sie im Laufe seiner langen Karriere immer wieder als kleine Widmung für seine vielen Freunde und Bewunderer nieder. Die Begleitumstände ihrer Komposition sind überwiegend unbekannt; viele befinden sich in anonymer, privater Hand und können nicht eingesehen werden, sind jedoch durch ihre Veröffentlichung als Faksimile in verschiedenen Auktionskatalogen bekannt. Aus diesem Grund fehlen uns die letzten fünfzehn Takte auf der Manuskriptrückseite des frühen Andantino in Es-Dur, da nur die Vorderseite veröffentlicht wurde. Der Verbleib des Manuskripts ist unbekannt und das musikalische Material ist nur auf dieser einen Seite erhalten.
