Wife of John Hunter, founder of the Hunterian Museum, Royal College of Surgeons, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London. She was best known for her Scottish ballads and lyrical collaborations with the composer Franz Joseph Haydn and published two volumes of poetry, Poems, which was published in 1802, and The Sports of the Genii, which was published in 1804.
