Andrei Serov (bass)

Andrei Serov (bass-baritone) began his career at the Helikon Opera in Moscow. He has been a soloist with The Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers since 2008. His repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre includes the roles of Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), Water-Goblin (Rusalka), Dr. Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore), Sarastro (The Magic Flute), Mayor (May Night), Grandfather Frost (The Snow Maiden), Golaud (Pelléas and Mélisande), Lindorf, Mirakel, Coppelius, Dapertutto (Tales of Hoffmann). In 2010 he won the St Petersburg Teatral Society theatre-goers’ choice award for the role of Sancho Pança (Don Quichotte). He has performed in Mussorgsky’s Songs and Dances of Death at the Wiener Konzerthaus, conducted by Valery Gergiev, and he has taken part in the New York Philharmonic’s Stravinsky Festival.
