Wie des Mondes Abbild zittert (February 1880) is a rapt, silvery nocturne with a more than possibly personal message for Wolf in the image of the moon (Vally) moving serenely through the heavens while her reflection (Hugo) trembles in the waves of the sea.

Wie des Mondes Abbild zittert (Februar 1880) ist ein verzücktes, silbriges Nocturne mit einer wahrscheinlich sehr persönlichen Bedeutung für Wolf: das Bild des Mondes (Vally) bewegt sich ruhig und gelassen durch die Himmel, während sein Spiegelbild (Hugo) sich zitternd in den Wellen des Meeres befindet.
