April 2014 Releases

Our Record of the Month for April 2014 comes from the wonderful Iestyn Davies and Thomas Dunford (making his Hyperion debut): Dowland The Art of Melancholy presents a thought-provoking sequence of twenty songs and lute solos. The Takács Quartet are joined by Lawrence Power for a much-anticipated new recording of the Brahms String Quintets, while the French chamber repertoire finds the Goldner String Quartet thoroughly enjoying the Vierne String Quartet and Pierné Piano Quintet, once again joined at the piano by Piers Lane.
