Two exciting violinists make their first recordings for Hyperion this month: Eugene Ugorski performs the two Młynarski Violin Concertos (a fifteenth volume in our Romantic Violin Concerto series), Michał Dworzyński conducting a top-form BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and Jack Liebeck pairs up with Katya Apekisheva for a whirlwind programme of Kreisler Violin Music.
Re-issued at budget price this month are James Bowman and Michael Chance sparkling through Countertenor duets by Purcell and Blow, and the complete Wolf Eichendorff-Lieder sympathetically performed by Stephan Genz.
From Gimell and The Tallis Scholars there is a welcome return of the pioneering 1984 Tavener Ikon of Light recording.
