Midnight in Seville, composed during Gottschalk’s sojourn in Spain but not published until 1856 when he included it in his New York recitals. With its pianistic evocations of the guitar,it is a precursor of the Spanish keyboard school of Albéniz and Granados.

Minuit à Séville, composé durant le séjour de Gottshalk en Espagne, mais qui ne fut publié qu’en 1856, quand le compositeur l’inclut dans ses récitals new-yorkais. En évoquant la guitare au piano, c’est un précurseur de l’école espagnole du clavier d’Albéniz et de Granados.

Mitternacht in Sevilla, komponiert während Gottschalks Spanienaufenthalt, jedoch erst 1856 publiziert, als er das Stück in sein New Yorker Konzertprogramm aufnahm. Indem es pianistisch den Klang der Gitarre heraufbeschwört, nimmt es die spanische Schule des Klavierspiels von Albéniz und Granados vorweg.
