Deborah York was born in Sheffield and graduated from Manchester University with a first class honours degree before going on to further her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Deborah's repertoire spans all periods and styles, though she is best known as a specialist in baroque and classical music, singing regularly with most of the distinguished ensembles and conductors in these fields worldwide.
