Christopher Wilson studied the lute at the Royal College of Music with Diana Poulton. He has since established himself as one of the leading lutenists in Britain, specialising in the performance of Renaissance music. He has given many broadcasts on radio and television as a soloist and ensemble performer and his concert tours have taken him to most parts of Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Russia, South America and the USA. As well as performing with his own ensembles The Lute Group and Kithara, his increasing interest in the lute-song repertoire has led him to work with such song-recitalists as countertenor Michael Chance and tenor Rufus Müller. He also performs with Fretwork, The Consort of Musicke and John Eliot Gardiner’s English Baroque Soloists.
