Andrew Clark (horn)

Andrew Clark received his musical training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where his horn teachers were Anthony Halstead, Jeffrey Bryant, and Anthony Chidell. He graduated in 1987, winning the composition prize, but going on to perform on the modern horn as well as on historical instruments. He currently plays principal horn with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.

Recent projects have included recording the Crusell Horn Concerto for Hyperion, Bach cantatas with Ton Koopman and various obbligato horn parts for The King’s Consort. Previous collaborations with Geoffrey Govier have included recordings of Beethoven’s Horn Sonata and Brahms’s Horn Trio. He has also recorded Mozart’s Horn Quintet and the Sonata da Caccia by Thomas Adès. He has been the professor of natural horn at the Royal Academy of Music in London since 1993.
