Sergeeva, Ekaterina (mezzo-soprano)

Ekaterina Sergeeva (mezzo-soprano)

Born in St Petersburg, Ekaterina Sergeeva graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2005 and immediately joined the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. Her performances at the Mariinsky Theatre have included Blanche (The Gambler), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Siegrune (Die Walküre), and Laura (Iolanta), and she has also appeared in Elektra, Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges, Die Zauberflöte, Ariadne auf Naxos, and Don Quichotte. Ekaterina has also worked with the Bolshoi Opera, the London Symphony Orchestra (for a recording of Strauss’ Elektra, with Valery Gergiev), and the Hermitage Theatre. With the Mariinsky Opera Company she has toured to Germany (Baden-Baden), Japan and the USA.
