Florian Boesch (baritone)

In recent years the Austrian baritone Florian Boesch has established himself as one of the finest interpreters of Lieder of his generation. Since the beginning of his career he has performed Lieder widely, and has been invited to the Wiener Musikverein and Wiener Konzerthaus, London’s Wigmore Hall, the International Edinburgh Festival, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, Philharmonie Köln, and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. He has also performed in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Japan, Canada and the United States.

Florian Boesch began his international career as Papageno at the Zurich Opernhaus. He has since appeared in a number of Mozart, Handel and Haydn operas, including Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Radamisto and Belshazzar, and has appeared at the Salzburg Festival, Hamburg State Opera, Theater an der Wien, and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

Florian Boesch is also a frequent guest on the concert platform, and works regularly with conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Sir Roger Norrington, Ádám Fischer and Philippe Herreweghe.
