Hyperion congratulates Gerald Finley and Julius Drake on their success at the 2011 Gramophone Awards.

On Friday 1 October at the 2010 Gramophone Awards, we were delighted, and surprised, to discover that the final volume of The Cardinall’s Musick Byrd Edition, ‘Infelix ego’ , not only won the Early Music Award but was voted ‘Recording of the Year’. This is only the second time in the history of the awards that a recording of Early Music has won this highest accolade. It is Hyperion’s fourth ‘Recording of the Year’ and a great bonus for our 30th Anniversary celebrations!

The 2011 printed catalogue of Hyperion and Helios recordings is now available.

Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien’s disc of Szymanowski Complete Music for Vioin and Piano has been nominated in the Chamber Category of the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2010.
