The so-called ‘completions’ of Gesualdo’s Tres sacrae cantiones betray Stravinsky’s unmistakable harmonic style to such an extent that they are not mere arrangements or canonic completions but recompositions which become a hybrid with characteristics of both composers.

Les soi-disant «parachèvements» des Tres sacrae cantiones de Gesualdo trahissent le style harmonique inimitable de Stravinski à un tel point qu’il ne s’agit plus de simples arrangements ni de parachèvements canoniques mais de nouvelles compositions hybrides possédant des caractéristiques des deux compositeurs.

Die sogennanten „Komplettierungen“ der Tres sacrae cantiones Gesualdos lassen ebenfalls Strawinskys unmißverständlichen harmonischen Stil erkennen, und zwar so sehr, daß es sich nicht um bloße Arrangements oder kanonische Komplettierungen, sondern um Neukompositionen handelt—eine Mischform, die Merkmale beider Komponisten aufweist.
