To William Wright goes the credit for unearthing the Allegro maestoso which may well be a sketch for the opening of an Étude in F sharp major. Such a study would have been the next piece in the projected continuation of the Étude en douze exercices (originally announced as 48 rather than 12 pieces, but only the first set ever appeared).

Il revient à William Wright d’avoir mis à jour l’Allegro maestoso, qui pourrait fort bien être une esquisse de l’ouverture d’une Étude en fa dièse majeur. Pareille étude aurait pu entrer dans le cadre du projet de continuation de l’Étude en douze exercices (originellement annoncée en quarante-huit exercices, mais seul le premier corpus parut.)

William Wright gebührt das Verdienst, das Allegro maestoso zu Tage gefördert zu haben, bei dem es sich um eine Skizze für die Eröffnung einer Etüde in Fis-Dur handeln könnte. So eine Etüde wäre das nächste Stück in der geplanten Fortsetzung der Étude en douze exercices gewesen (ursprünglich als Folge von 48 statt nur 12 Stücken angekündigt, aber lediglich die erste Sammlung ist jemals erschienen).
