The several disparate elements which make up the prelude include figurations typical of the south German toccata style of Pachelbel as well as reminiscences of the Prelude and Fugue in A minor, BWV543, and the Aria, BWV587. The dancing fugue at first appears to be destined to be built on a large scale but is cut off somewhat abruptly after the first entry of the pedals.

Les éléments disparates constitutifs du prélude incluent des figurations typiques du style de toccata de Pachelbel (Allemagne du Sud), mais aussi des réminiscences du Prélude et fugue en la mineur, BWV543 et de l’Aria, BWV587. La fugue dansante semble d’abord devoir être bâtie sur une large gamme, mais elle est interrompue quelque peu brusquement, après la première entrée des pédales.

Die mehreren unterschiedlichen Elemente, aus denen sich das Präludium zusammensetzt, sind unter anderem Figurationen, die für den süddeutschen Tokkatenstil Pachelbels typisch sind, sowie Anklänge an Präludium und Fuge in a-Moll BWV 543 und die Arie BWV 587. Die tänzerische Fuge erscheint zunächst dazu bestimmt, in großem Maßstab aufgebaut zu werden, bricht jedoch nach dem ersten Einsatz auf den Pedalen recht abrupt ab.
