In 2010 Paul Lewis became the first pianist to perform all five Beethoven piano concertos in a single BBC Proms season. He is a regular guest at many other prestigious venues and festivals, including the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, the Roque d’Anthéron Piano Festival, the Klavier Festival Ruhr, and London’s Wigmore Hall, where he has appeared on more than forty occasions. He has also given recitals at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Toppan Hall Tokyo, Symphony Centre Chicago, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tonhalle Zurich, Auditorio Nacional Madrid, Kennedy Center Washington, and the Vienna Konzerthaus, and has made two extensive recital tours of Australia. He has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors, including Sir Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink, Sir Mark Elder, Sir Charles Mackerras, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Adam Fischer, Andris Nelsons, Marin Alsop, Jirví Bevlohlávek and Daniel Harding, and has recently toured with the London Symphony, Bournemouth Symphony, Lausanne Chamber and Australian Chamber orchestras.
