Grace Davidson (soprano)

Grace began her musical life as a violinist at the Junior Guildhall, London. She later won a scholarship to study at The Royal Academy of Music where she gained both a degree and a postgraduate degree. Whilst at the Academy she won the early music prize and the English song prize, as well as being a finalist in the London Handel Competition.

She has performed as a consort singer with many leading British groups, including the Monteverdi Choir, Ex Cathedra, Tenebrae, the Gabrieli Consort, Alamire, The Sixteen, The Tallis Scholars and The Cambridge Singers, and as a soloist, specialising in baroque and renaissance music.

Performance and recording highlights include St Matthew Passion with Phillipe Herreweghe in Europe and the USA; Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) in Canada; Monteverdi Vespers in Spain with Harry Christophers; a recording of Paul Mealor’s A Tender Light with Tenebrae and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; recordings for Eric Whitacre; the soundtrack to the film, Pirates of the Caribbean 4; and a disc featuring Handel’s Gloria and Nine German Arias with Harry Christophers.
