Dimitri Demetriades (conductor)

Born in Athens in 1952, Dimitri Demetriades studied in Heidelberg and Munich, where he won the Richard Strauss Prize in 1976. A prizewinner of the Hans Swarowsky Competition in Vienna, he made his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1983 and now regularly conducts most of the orchestras in Germany and Holland and also some in Italy, Austria and Britain.
