Steven Osborne records for Hyperion. His recordings of Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus and Rachmaninov’s Preludes met with exceptional praise and were each nominated for a Gramophone Award. His recording of Debussy’s complete Préludes was selected by Gramophone as ‘Editor’s Choice’, as were discs of solo works by Alkan, Liszt’s Harmonies poétiques et religieuses, and an acclaimed disc of Schubert piano duets with Paul Lewis. His survey of the complete solo piano music of Ravel and discs of Beethoven piano sonatas and bagatelles and of Rachmaninov and Medtner piano sonatas also received widespread praise. Steven has also recorded the piano sonatas and piano concerto by Sir Michael Tippett, the complete works for piano and orchestra by Benjamin Britten, and a solo disc of Musorgsky and Prokofiev, the latter two both winning Gramophone Awards.
