Samuel Boden (tenor)

British tenor Samuel Boden began his professional career as a chef before studying singing with John Wakefield at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. His opera engagements have included appearances with The Royal Opera (the title role of Cavalli’s L’Ormindo), Theater St Gallen (Purcell), Glyndebourne Festival Opera (Purcell and Rameau), English National Opera (Monteverdi), Opéra-Théâtre de Metz Métropole (Purcell), Opéra de Dijon and Opéra de Lille (Charpentier), and Centro Cultural Universitario, Mexico City (Britten). In concert he has also sung Hippolyte (Hippolyte et Aricie) with Ensemble Pygmalion under Raphaël Pichon, and Abaris (Les Boréades) in concert with Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble and Marc Minkowski.

On the concert platform Samuel has sung repertoire from Lassus to contemporary music, appearing with the Hallé Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the Monteverdi Choir, Gabrieli Consort, Les Arts Florissants, Le Concert d’Astrée and Ex Cathedra, under Christian Curnyn, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Giancarlo Guerro, Nicholas Kraemer, Emmanuelle Haïm, Philippe Herreweghe, Robert Howarth, Paul McCreesh, Sakari Oramo, John Storgårds, Jeffrey Skidmore and Thomas Zehetmair. He has appearanced at the Aix-en-Provence and Edinburgh festivals and at the BBC Proms.
