Julian Lloyd Webber (cello)
London-born Julian Lloyd Webber is a son of the noted composer, organist and one-time Principal of The London College of Music, William Lloyd Webber (1914-1982). Although Julian is a noted and successful performer of the 'standard' cello works, it is his championship of 'rarities', and particularly of British music, that has contributed most to the cello repertory. He has given more than forty works their first recording, among them important pieces by Bridge, Britten, Holst and Sullivan.
