Lisa Beckley (soprano)

Lisa Beckley studied Chemistry at Keble College Oxford, and had the opportunity for a highly varied musical life there – everything from early music to musical theatre – and was the soloist in Tonus Peregrinus’ first-ever concert in November 1990. Since then she has specialized in early music, and to date has sung all over the world and on disc with most of Britain’s leading consorts including The Sixteen, The King’s Consort, The Cardinall’s Musick, Oxford Camerata, AAM, and The Tallis Scholars. She appeared as the soloist with Schola Cantorum of Oxford on their best-selling Naxos disc of Fauré’s Requiem (her Pie Jesu featured in the film Broken Flowers).
