The Moscow Rachmaninov Trio

Viktor Yampolsky was born in Dushanbe, Tadjikistan. He studied the piano at the Moscow Conservatory and graduated with distinction in the class of Vladimir Nathanson. He works internationally as soloist and chamber musician and has won a special reputation for his performances of twentieth-century Russian music. The composer Edison Denisov chose him to be the pianist for his Moscow Ensemble for Contemporary Music, in which capacity and as soloist he can be heard on several Russian CDs and broadcasts.

Mikhail Tsinman was born in Moscow and began his musical education at the famous Gnessin Music Academy, subsequently winning First Prize at the Prague Concert Competition. After continuing his studies at the Moscow Conservatory, in 1990 he was prizewinner of the international violin competition ‘Premio Rodolfo Lipizer’ in Italy. In 1991 he won the Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria. He works internationally as soloist and chamber musician and can be heard on several Russian CDs and radio productions.

Natalia Savinova was born in Moscow. At the age of six she started her musical education at the Gnessin Music Academy. In 1980 she changed to the Moscow Conservatory, studying with professors N Shakovskaya, K Ajemov, M Tterian and M Kopelman, graduating with distinction in 1985. She was a prizewinner of the National All-Russian Violoncello Competition and of the International Dvorák Competition in Prague. She works internationally as soloist and chamber musician, and is a member of the Moscow Ensemble of Contemporary Music. In addition to making CD recordings in her native Russia, she has participated in radio broadcasts in Germany, France and Switzerland.
