Koen van Stade (tenor)

A graduate of both the Amsterdam Conservatorium and The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, Koen van Stade is an international performing scholar. He sang with such prestigious Early Music ensembles as Collegium Vocale Gent (Philippe Herreweghe), The Amsterdam Baroque Choir (Ton Koopman) and the Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam. Koen van Stade appears regularly as singer and conductor of Sydney’s leading groups including The Song Company and Pinchgut Opera and is a regular guest at the Canberra International Festival. He is currently a PhD candidate, focusing on 19th-century vocal performance practice. This year he received the Peter Davidson Scholarship for outstanding research.
