traditional Irish air 'The Maid of Mourne Shore'
author of text

In this Irish song, the words are by William Butler Yeats, celebrated Dublin-born writer and winner of the 1923 Nobel Prize for literature. The verses come from his 1889 collection Crossways, and the music is an arrangement by Herbert Hughes of a traditional Irish air, ‘The Maid of Mourne Shore’.
