Méditation, Op posth.


The little Méditation dates from around 1964, but it was not published until 2001. Duruflé used its haunting refrain again in the Agnus Dei of his Mass of 1966; in the organ piece it alternates with the improvisatory flights of a solo flute above luscious string chords.
