First line:
Rising, as darkness falls
author of text

Eclipse is the second of two concert pieces written for Aldeburgh Voices in 2011—the companion piece of Sun Soul. Eclipse evokes the darkness of the night being offset by the capricious nature of the moon. Bardsley’s text illuminates the night—no longer with the sun, but now with the moon’s light. He concludes: ‘Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth’.
