Serenade, H23

composer
1903

The market in small instrumental pieces fit for domestic as well as professional use was at its height before the First World War and Bridge became a popular contributor, selling a steady stream of genre pieces for violin, viola, cello and piano to the top sheet-music publishers. Many of these have enjoyed a fresh lease of life in recent years, including an elegant, lilting Serenade from 1903, and a light, graceful Spring Song, the second of four short pieces for violin or cello and piano published in 1912.
