Bing Crosby’s recorded version of Irving Berlin’s languorously beautiful White Christmas remains one of the biggest-selling records of all time, even though it took the famed singer just 18 minutes in which to record the song. And it was Bing Crosby who originally introduced this immortal melody to the world in the 1942 Hollywood film Holiday Inn, although the number was aired by filmdom again in 1954, when the song even generated the title of the new film White Christmas.
