Verse 1 is essentially Handel’s version in D major. Verse 2 modulates, unusually, to the subdominant and is sung by the trebles with light accompaniment. After a brief episode verse 3 is sung in unison in the original key, with a descant.

La strophe 1 est pour l’essentiel la version de Haendel en ré majeur. La strophe 2 module à la sous-dominante, ce qui est inhabituel, et est chantée par les sopranos avec un accompagnement léger. Après un bref épisode, la strophe 3 est chantée à l’unisson dans la tonalité originale avec un contre-chant.

Die erste Strophe entspricht vorwiegend Händels Version in D-Dur. Die zweite Strophe moduliert entgegen den Gepflogenheiten in die Subdominante und wird mit leichter Begleitung von den Sopranstimmen gesungen. Nach einem kurzen Zwischenspiel folgt die dritte Strophe unisono in der Originaltonart, um eine Diskantstimme ergänzt.
