Ave Maria

composer
author of text
Antiphon for the Blessed Virgin Mary

Ave Maria, scored for divided choir, was joint winner of the Concours Européen pour Chœurs et Maîtrises de Cathédrales 1999. Underpinned with a taut, tripartite motivic construction, I have tried to use sparingly the richness available with a divided chorus to give the work an air of sensitive restraint.
