How calmly the evening

1907; E flat major; SATB
author of text

A product of late 1907 is the partsong How calmly the evening once more is descending, to words by T T Lynch, written for publication in The Musical Times. It is gentle and hymn-like or, to quote Elgar, 'homely but felt'.
