The World's Wanderers

First line:
Tell me, Star, whose wings of light
1895; originally to a text by Heine
author of text
The World's Wanderers; unfinished poem first published in Posthumous Poems, 1824, verse 1

The World’s Wanderers, with its two-bar refrain, was—like My native land—composed in 1895 to a German text by Heine. Later (perhaps not much later) Ives adapted the song to the Shelley poem it now sets.
