The Choir of Westminster Cathdral has produced innumerable recordings of the highest calibre over the years, and few more special than this, the plainsong introduction to Benjamin Britten’s immortal Ceremony of Carols at once transporting the listener into the smells and sounds of the cavernous cathedral. Also included are the Missa brevis (composed especially for the Westminster boys in 1959) and several of Britten’s other choral masterworks.
