A third volume in our Complete Liszt Songs cycle welcomes Gerald Finley to the series and renews his multi-award-winning partnership with Julius Drake. Also reaching its third release is Martin Roscoe's survey of The Complete Dohnányi Solo Piano Music. This penultimate volume includes the Variations on a Hungarian Folksong and Ruralia hungarica.

New recordings from Signum Classics this month find the eminent Carducci Quartet embarking on a worldwide project to perform the Shostakovich String Quartets, here presenting Nos 4, 8 & 11. From the wonderful Contrapunctus and director Owen Rees we have In the Midst of Life – Music from the Baldwin Partbooks, an exploration of Tudor metaphysicals (which includes a glorious performance of Sheppard's Media vita among other treasures).
