January 2014 Releases

Steven Isserlis inaugurates our new releases for 2014—with regular collaborator Robert Levin at the fortepiano, his Beethoven Cello Sonatas includes all the other pieces for cello and piano and makes for an exciting January Record of the Month. Isserlis also makes a guest appearance on a new album of Piano Music by Julius Isserlis; these wonderful, almost Chopin-esque miniatures have been lovingly restored to the repertoire by Sam Haywood in his first recording for Hyperion. Another thrilling new artist is Mahan Esfahani: his restless championing of all-things-harpsichord reaches new heights with the six CPE Bach Württemberg Sonatas.
