Blazing fireworks too from Westminster Cathedral Choir and London Brass in a programme built around James MacMillan's Tu es Petrus and other choral spectaculars written for occasions of grand ceremony; Martin Baker braves the onslaught to conduct. The London Haydn Quartet has recorded the six Haydn Op 33 String Quartets, a fourth release in their acclaimed cycle and again striving for matchless authenticity, this time with the help of the 1782 Schmitt edition.
Re-issues see the return of delightful Tchaikovsky and Arensky from The Raphael Ensemble, and St George's Chapel Choir Windsor in their pioneering recording of Tavener Sacred Music from 1990.
