Fugue in F major, HWV611

The F major Fugue first appeared in a Hamburg manuscript in 1705. It has no tempo directive but has an ‘open air’ subject which suggests vivacity and élan.

La Fugue en fa majeur fit son apparition pour la première fois dans un manuscrit de Hambourg en 1705. Elle ne possède pas de directives concernant le mouvement, mais son sujet est «ouvert», suggérant de l’élan et de la vivacité.

Die Fuge in F-Dur erschien zuerst in einem Hamburger Manuskript im Jahre 1705. Sie besitzt keinerlei Anweisungen zum Tempo, aber ein „Freiluft“-Thema, das lebhaft und schwungvoll klingt.
