Venit dilectus meus in ortum suum
ut comedat fructum pomorum suorum.
Fundamenta eius in montibus sanctis;
diligit Dominus portas Sion
super omnia tabernacula Jacob.
Gloriosa dicta sunt de te, civitas Dei!
Memor ero Rahab et Babylonis, scientium me;
ecce alienigenae et Tyrus, et populus Aethiopum, hi fuerunt illic.
Numquid Sion dicet: ‘Homo et homo natus in ea,
et ipse fundavit eam altissimus?’
Dominus narrabit in scripturis populorum et principum,
horum qui fuerunt in ea,
sicut laetantium omnium habitatio est in te.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper.
Et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
My beloved came down into his garden
so that he might eat of his fruits.
His foundation is in the holy mountains;
the Lord loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
Glorious things are spoken of you, city of God!
I will remember Rahab and Babylon to them that know me;
behold foreigners and Tyre and the Ethiopians; they were there.
Surely Zion will say: ‘This and that man was born in her,
and the highest himself established her?’
The Lord shall relate in the writings of the peoples,
and the princes of those that were there,
just as the dwelling of all who are joyful is in you.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen.
