Omnis terra colere conetur
Deum verum regentem omnia,
Cuius dono taliter repletur
Quod fert fructum proditque semina,
Germinat herbas floresque pandit
Nemus quod late frondes expandit,
Nutritque terra sata semina
De quibus crescit perampla seges
Que suo pascit tempore greges
Que regi summo dant obsequia,
Varia ferentes ovamina,
Eius implorantes levamina.
Profert terra viventes arbores,
Longas, latas, novas et veteres,
Plumbum, ferrum, aurum et argentum,
Nutrit viros et omne iumentum,
Fenum et herbam confert bestiis,
Feris inferum dat alimentum.
Nobis dat escam rerum consciis
Quodcumque bladum atque frumentum.
Hoc fert cunctis quod vis nutrimentum,
Sed Deus dat rebus incrementum.
Ergo, non in muta voce, voto
Debito rex omnium laudetur,
Cuius regis studio terra repletur.
Laudemus sacramentum causam pariter
Deum viviciter corde cum devoto.
Vivamus ut feliciter, fastu quovis remoto,
Sine mora precemur regem fortiter,
Tempus habetur hic sufficiens,
Ne quando moriemur nosmet graviter
Ad inferos tractemus, lucem nesciens,
Sed ad lumen levemer indeficiens.
Habenti dabitur, et habundabit,
Nec habundabitur, nec quicquam dabit,
Set quod adcquiritur malo vallabit;
Dum mente primitur cubitis stabit.
In aqua labitur semper et abit;
Sic idem uritur, ned redundabit.
Ideo stupeo nam Simonem video
Quod non pontificabit,
Et probus reprobus omnibus non duobus
Solum pronus stabit.
Igitur spernitur quod in psalmo scribitur:
Let the whole world strive to worship
the true God governing all things,
by whose gift it is replenished
so that it produces fruit and puts forth seeds,
makes grasses grow and opens the flowers
so that the wood puts forth branches all around,
and the earth nourishes the planted seeds
from which the abundant corn grows,
feeding, in its season,
the flocks which reverence
the supreme king, rejoicing in various ways,
beseeching him for his solace.
The earth puts forth living trees,
long, broad, new and old,
lead, iron, gold and silver,
it nourishes mankind and every beast of burden,
it gives hay and grass to animals,
it gives lowly food to wild beasts.
To us, with the power of reason,
it gives food, every kind of crop and produce
and every kind of nourishment you please,
but it is God who gives the increase to things.
Therefore, not in a muted voiced, with due vow,
let the king of all things be praised,
the king by whose zeal the earth is replenished.
Let us praise this holy thing and equally God,
the cause, in a lively fashion, with devout heart.
Let us live so that, in a blessed manner,
with every kind of pride put away,
we may strongly implore the king that,
when we die, we do not drag ourselves
heavily down to the depths, not knowing the light,
but may raise up, without blemish, to that radiance.
To him who has will more be given, and it will be abundant,
but there will not be abundance nor will he give anything,
but he will validate what is acquired with evil;
when this is impressed on his mind he will stand on his elbows.
He constantly slides in the water and goes away;
thus he is also burnt and will not overflow.
Therefore, I am aghast, for I see that Simon
will not become a bishop,
but, a real villain, will stand bent before all,
not just two.
Therefore the text of the psalm is spurned which says:
the just man will flourish.
