The symphonic Bruckner again finds echo in miniature in Virga Jesse floruit of 1885, especially in the magnificent climax that builds in imitative sequences on the phase ‘pacem Deus reddidit’—another very Brucknerian transformation of the ‘Dresden Amen’ from Parsifal. Harmonically this motet journeys far, until the coda stabilizes in E major, culminating in a surprisingly jaunty sequence of alleluias from the tenors (the last marked ‘falsetto’—possibly a whimsical representation of the reconciliation of ‘high’ and ‘low’ in the text).

Le Bruckner symphoniste trouve un nouvel écho miniature dans Virga Jesse floruit (1885), notamment dans le superbe climax qui se développe en séquences imitatives sur «pacem Deus reddidit»—encore une métamorphose toute brucknérienne de l’«Amen de Dresde» de Parsifal. Harmoniquement, ce motet va loin, jusqu’à ce que la coda se stabilise en mi majeur et culmine en une séquence étonnamment allègre d’alléluias aux ténors (le dernier est marqué «falsetto»—peut-être une représentation insolite de la réconciliation du «haut» et du «bas» évoqués dans le texte).

Der symphonische Bruckner findet wiederum ein weiteres miniaturistisches Echo in Virga Jesse floruit von 1885, besonders in der herrlichen Steigerung in imitativen Sequenzen über die Phrase „pacem Deus reddidit“—wiederum eine ganz Brucknerianische Transformation des Dresdner Amens aus Parsifal. Harmonisch geht diese Motette auf weite Reisen bis die Coda auf E-Dur einhält und in einer überraschend fröhlichen Folge von Alleluias der Tenöre kulminiert (das letzte mit „Falsett“ markiert—womöglich eine skurrile Schilderung der Versöhnung von „hoch“ und „niedrig“ im Text).
