John Behnke (b1953) is a professor at Concordia University in Wisconsin, USA. His
Go tell it on the mountain, which comes from a 2003 Bärenreiter collection entitled
Jazz Inspirations for Organ, introduces the ‘blues’ theme. Marked ‘With a detached swing’, this brief number quickly works up to a fortissimo statement of the famous tune.
