Valse-ballet, also known as Chaminade’s
Valse No 6, is a vivacious and whimsical piece in C major, very clearly laid out in defined sections. The G major second strain mingles a cheerful fanfare with the main tune; a more thoughtful, rather Chopinesque idea in A minor occupies the middle section, and the fanfare returns in E before the
Valse’s opening music is reprised.
