Domine, exaudi orationem meam, et clamor meus ad te veniat.
Non avertas faciem tuam a me;
in quacunque die tribulor, inclina ad me aurem tuam;
in quacunque die invocavero te, velociter exaudi me.
Quia defecerunt sicut fumus dies mei,
et ossa mea sicut cremium aruerunt.
Percussus sum ut foenum, et aruit cor meum,
quia oblitus sum comedere panem meum.
A voce gemitus mei adhaesit os meum carni meae.
Similis factus sum pellicano solitudinis;
factus sum sicut nycticorax in domicilio.
Vigilavi, et factus sum sicut passer solitarius in tecto.
Tota die exprobrabant mihi inimici mei,
et qui laudabant me adversum me iurabant:
quia cinerem tanquam panem manducabam,
et poculum meum cum fletu miscebam;
a facie irae indignationis tuae,
quia elevans allisisti me.
Dies mei sicut umbra declinaverunt,
et ego sicut foenum arui.
Tu autem, Domine, in aeternum permanes,
et memoriale tuum in generationem et generationem.
Tu exsurgens misereberis Sion,
quia tempus miserendi eius, quia venit tempus;
quoniam placuerunt servis tuis lapides eius,
et terrae eius miserebuntur.
Et timebunt gentes nomen tuum, Domine,
et omnes reges terrae gloriam tuam;
quia aedificavit Dominus Sion et videbitur in gloria sua.
Respexit in orationem humilium,
et non sprevit preces eorum.
Scribantur haec in generatione altera,
et populus qui creabitur laudabit Dominum.
Quia prospexit de excelso sancto suo,
Dominus de caelo in terram aspexit;
ut audiret gemitus compeditorum,
ut solveret filios interemptorum;
ut annuntient Sion nomen Domini, et laudem eius in Jerusalem,
in conveniendo populos in unum,
et reges ut serviant Domino.
Respondit ei in via virtutis suae:
paucitatem dierum meorum nuntia mihi.
Ne revoces me in dimidio dierum meorum,
in generationem et generationem anni tui.
Initio tu, Domine, terram fundasti,
et opera manuum tuarum sunt caeli.
Ipsi peribunt, tu autem permanes;
et omnes sicut vestimentum veterascent.
Et sicut opertorium mutabis eos, et mutabuntur;
tu autem idem ipse es, et anni tui non deficient.
Filii servorum tuorum habitabunt;
et semen eorum in saeculum dirigetur.
Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee.
Hide not thy face from me;
in the day when I am in trouble incline thine ear unto me;
in the day when I call answer me speedily.
For my days are consumed like smoke
and my bones are burned as an hearth.
My heart is smitten and withered like grass
so that I forget to eat my bread.
By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to skin.
I am like a pelican in the wilderness;
I am like an owl of the desert.
I watch, and am as a sparrow alone on the house top.
Mine enemies reproach me all day,
and they that are mad against me are sworn against me:
for I have eaten ashes like bread
and mingled my drink with weeping;
because of thine indignation and thy wrath,
for thou hast lifted me up and cast me down.
My days are like a shadow that declineth,
and I am withered like grass.
But thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever,
and thy remembrance unto all generations.
Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Sion
for the time to favour her, yea, the time set is come;
for thy servants take pleasure in her stones,
and favour the dust thereof.
So shall the heathen fear thy name, O Lord,
and all the kings of the earth thy glory;
when the Lord shall build up Sion and he shall appear in his glory.
He will regard the prayer of the destitute,
and he will not despise their prayers.
This shall be written for the generation to come,
and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary,
from the heaven did the Lord behold the earth;
to hear the groaning of a prisoner,
to loose those that are appointed to death;
to declare the name of the Lord in Sion, and his praise in Jerusalem,
when the people are gathered together,
and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
He weakened my strength in the way:
he shortened my days.
I said, O my God, take me not in the midst of my days,
thy years are throughout all generations.
Of old hast thou laid the foundations of the earth
and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
They shall perish, but thou shalt endure;
all of them shall wax like a garment.
And as a vesture shalt thou change them and they shall be changed;
but thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
The children of thy servants shall continue,
and their seed shall be established before thee.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now
and ever shall be. Amen.
