The dying swan 'Romance poétique', RO76 Op 100
EnglishFrançaisDeutsch
One of Gottschalk’s canon of lachrymose audience-pleasers along with The Last Hope, Morte!!, The Dying Poet and Tremolo, The Dying Swan was published posthumously. Well within the reach of the lady amateur, it is in simple A (G minor) – B (G major) – A – B form, its plaintive main theme to be played cantabile e doloroso. The work is dedicated to a Miss Eva Waldence Hedge of Chicago.
